A quieter August did not dampen the busy Q3


August has traditionally been a quieter month for mergers and acquisitions but, once again, Results International saw good levels of global activity in the third quarter, continuing the recent trajectory as the market remains dynamic and fast.

We tracked 63 deals in the marketing services space in August and are excited about the activity over the next few months through 2022. A strong appetite for private equity has been a recurring theme alongside a pool. increasingly confident strategic buyers, which closed 55 deals in August.

Again, in August, North America was the most active region with 25 targets acquired, alongside 13 in the UK and 12 in Western Europe.

This month’s good deals include:

  • Belgian digital group Emakina was acquired by New York-listed development and engineering group EPAM Systems – another good example of digital strategy and design capabilities combined with the digital product and engineering ecosystem.

  • Omobono was acquired by The Marketing Practice, backed by Horizon Capital. Omobono is a UK-based business-to-business digital experience agency providing complementary branded and creative digital services.

  • MediaSense has received a significant investment from Apiary Capital – an attractive deal for a large-scale global media advisor providing capital for global expansion and capacity development.

  • U.S. e-commerce agency Visiture was acquired by Shamrock Capital-backed performance marketing group Wpromote, expanding its reach into the United States and strengthening its Adobe and Shopify partnerships and capabilities.

  • The Canadian programming agency MediaNet was acquired by Brainlabs, backed by Livingbridge, resulting in further expansion in North America and strengthening the broader capacity of the Google stack.

  • US language and technology solutions group TransPerfect has acquired WebCertain Group, a UK-based business-to-business performance media company, another example of the vertical combination of language and translation with digital marketing capabilities.
